Mrs. <br />Barlow and Miss Benson should be refunded $45. OO paid by them under the pre-payment t ax plan, <br />The State law relieves them from taxes from the date o f the Court Order which E as April 22, <br />1941. <br /> Second: The land of the Portsmouth Hotel Corporation requesting a <br />refund of $43-75 for taxes paid for 19~ on the building 501 High St, It ap~ars that the <br />building at 501 High St. was razed in 1940 and should have been taken off the tax books for <br />1941, The building, however, was assessed for 19~l a~ $3~5OO.O0~ and i n order to avoid pen <br />alties the tax was paid~ and the sum of $8~o50 should be refunded. <br /> ~rd: Reques~ of W, R. Gill to be relieved of $i4.~3 for taxes <br />assessed on ~roperty 215 Fourth Ave. The commissione~ of Revenue made an error of $5OO.00 in <br />a~essing the building on the lot of land charged in the name of George T. McLean as lot G <br />Block K, ~ourth Ave. He relieved the taxes amounting to $12.50 on July 2~ 194~; but the <br />American National Bank, which holds a lien on the property~ paid the tax and required Mr~ill <br />to pay it in the entire amount.
