Pardoe of the War Production Board, requesting that a traffic expert be assigned to the <br />City of Portsmouth immediately.# <br /> <br />On motion ordered filed. <br /> <br /> 10th - "We have rented the property on the northwest comer of South and <br /> Court Sts., for the Rationing Board, and chairs, desks, typewriters and necessary equipment <br />~have been supplied for the efficient operation of the office." <br /> <br /> Motion of Er. Fox to approve the Manager's action was adopted. <br /> <br /> llth - "The owner of property on Potomac Avenue, bet~ween Glasgow St., and <br />the A.C.Lo Railroad, which is in the county, desires ~o extend the City's sanitary s ewer opp,- <br />site this property, t~ take care of fifteen new houses now under c6nstruction. The o?~er is to <br />pay all cost of labor and materials at no cost to the City. <br /> In consideration, the owner ~is to pay the City $25.00 for each house <br />or living unit connected to the sewer for the benefi~ of using the City's disposal line. <br /> In view of the fact that this will be installed at no expense to the <br />City, s_nd that it will be much more sanitary, i recommend that this extension be permitted. <br /> All of this ~rk will be done under the supervision of the City En- <br />gineer's office.~ <br /> <br /> Motion-of Mr. Fox to concur in the Manager's recommendation and t~hat the~ City <br />Attorney prepare a contract for same, was adopted. <br /> <br />Health ~enter. <br /> <br />12th - The E~uager asked for an appropriation of $7,-500.00 for land for <br /> <br /> Notion of Mr. Fox ~o place an appropriation of $Y,5OO.00 for ~ald purpose, on <br />its first reading, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hutohins ~o appropriate $4,000.00 for public playground at A, <br />Ann and Owen Sts., laid on table at last meeting, was taken up. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hutchins to appropriate $$,O00.O0 for said purpose, was adopted, <br />and by the following vo~e: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Leigh, Fox, Grimes, Hall, Howard, Hutchins, Lawrence, <br /> ~arren, Wilson <br />None <br /> <br /> The following ordinance, placed on its first reading at last meeting, was <br />-taken up and read: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE P~RESCRIBING FEES FOR iSSUING CERTIFIED <br /> COPIES OFBIRTH GERTIFIOATES AND FOR Ya~KING PRE ~ <br /> MARITAL BLOOD TESTS AND REPORTING THEREON." <br /> <br />On motion of Nr.
