That the said City of Portsm~th hereby requests the Highway Department to submit the-aforementioned project with recommendation that it be approved by the Commissioner of Public Reads Administration and agrees that if such project is approved.and oonst'ructed by the Highway-Department and the C~mmissioner of Public ~oads Administration, it thereafter, at its own cost and expense, will maintain 'the lxoJect in a manner s$isfactory to them, or their aut~_horized representatives, and wilt make ample provision each yes~ for such maintenance.
