<br /> 6th - "Bids on the incinerator, F~A 44-142, have been received and
<br />tabulated. However, since tL~s incinerator is expected to last us for twenty years, I am re-
<br />luctant to hastily make any decision toward its construction, until every aspect of it has
<br />been checked thoroughly.
<br /> It is hoped that by the nex~ meeting of the Council, on June
<br />22nd, I will be in position to recommend your acceptance of a contract to construct the incin-
<br />erator."

<br /> 7th - ~HEP~AS, proposal~ for the construction of a Health Center by
<br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, covered by Federal ~orks Agency Project No. VA 44-317, were
<br />opened on June 4th, 19~3 and bide were tabulated, and
<br /> WHEREAS, ~heproposal of H.M. DGcask Pertsmouth~ Virginia,
<br />of $53,310.90, was found to be the l~west bid and in order,
<br /> NOW, THEREFO_RE, Be it Resolved by the Council of the City o~
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia, ~hat the proposal of H. M. Lucas be accepted~ and the contract for said
<br />work be a~arded the above-menticned bi~der, subject To ~he approval of Federal Works A~ency of
<br />the United States, and the City Manager be authorized to execute said contract on ~eh~if of the

<br />~local~paper having circulation in the City of Portsmouth, a
<br />lis~ of the real estate so to bs sold, giving notice of the
<br />time and place of the sale an~ describing each Darcelas the
<br />same is described on the assessment rolls of the City,
<br />thor with the name of'the person to whom each parcel is as -
