Ti~e above estimate includes work not contemplated~in the oroJect as
originally outlined. It has been found necessary to increase the length of o~tfal! sewer ma-
terially. The original project included mu outfall !,500 feet in length following a route
directly toward the channel~ It was found later that this crossed the property of the Sou-
them Railroad. On inquiry we were informed that they were ~willin¢ to permit the line to
cross their property because of the critical location mud interference with their waterfron~
development. Zt will be necessary to construct the outfa!l on City property, and in order to
reach deep water near the channel.the lenMth must be increased from the original 1,5OO feet
~o 2,200 feet.
The original project did not include intercepting two outlets discharM-
in~ into the Southern Branch at London and Col~mbia Streets respectively. An item for exte~-~
sion of the suction well system ~o care for these two outlets is included in the above esti
m~te~
Construction costs are on a risin~ trend and the prices today are some
10.4 ~er cent above those originally estimated.~
