<br /> "WHEREES, the Calnaught Contracting Corporation, Contractors
<br />under Project VA ~4-396 - Cahoon-Kilby. Watermpipe Line, have been de-
<br /> layed in.the completion of this project, and
<br />
<br /> . WHEREAS, the delay in construction was no fault of the con-
<br />tractor, who has made every effort to complete the installation, amd
<br />
<br /> ~HEREAS, the said contractor is requesting an extension of
<br />time to complete the project,
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, Be it Resolved by the Council of the City of
<br />Portsmouth~ Virginia, that C~inaught Contracting Corporation be granted
<br />an extension of time of eighty-nine days on said project and be relieved
<br />of all costs caused by the delay, subject to the approval of the Federal
<br />Works Agency."

<br />amount of $14,500., and in order to protect our interests, it is my recommendation that an ap
<br />propriation be made from ~he WaterDepartment for the land to be purchased."
