<br /> 15th - MI am in receipt of the following.telegram from Congressman
<br />Ralph Daughton, relative to the reduction of work at the Navy Yard:

<br /> 'Through transfer of funds in amount of million and
<br />a half by the Navy Department officials the present
<br /> force of the Yard will not be disturbed for this quar-
<br /> ter. This gives us ample time within which tm work
<br /> for additional funds. Glad to see you at your convenience.'

<br /> 16th - "In July, 1955, you Authorized me to ~mplete an alarm system
<br />for the Jail, ~Tt~ch provided for telephones, emergency alarm for each floor of the Jail, Jail*
<br />or's call bells, hold-up alarms, and other alarm signals.
<br /> No appropriation was made at the time, but ths work has been
<br />completed and approved by the City Electrician at a cost of $581.76. An appropriation of this
<br />amount is necessary.~

<br />$175,432.79 as at November 20th, 19~5, which lists are in excess of the control account in
<br />the sum of $15,1~3.6~.
<br /> Both classes of tickets were in excess of the control accounts in
<br />the sum of $20~575.26, which amount~ compares favorably with the su~ of $20,~2.~8. ..... the tickets
<br />were in excess of the control according to our listings as at January l, 19~5.
<br /> Attached hereto are Exhibit A , of the real estate tick, ts in the sum
<br />of $3~,188.30, and Exhibit B, of the personal prcperty tickets in the sum of $76~970.$5, which
<br />amounts should be written off and the controls adjusted accordingly by creditinE the control
<br />accounts and debiting the Reserve for taxes, which accouat aow has a balance of ~269,701.89
<br />therein.
<br /> We would recommend that the Council authorize the adjustment of the
<br />Tax accounts to conform to the figures aseerta~ined by u~ as the result of our listings.
<br /> Upon such authorization we will make the necessary entries upon the
<br />books of the City.
