In order to complete the records it will be necessary to take care of an expense of approximately $2j700.00. An appropriation of this amount is necessary. In the event this compilation of information is ever sold, the City of Portsmouth, Va. is to receive a reasonable royalty.from same to be deposited into the general fund ?of the City." Notion of Mr. Weiseman to place on its first reading sm appropriation of $2,700.00 for said purpose, was adopted. 12th - "In furtherance of providing water to Sunr~v, with~Norfolk County representatives, I would recommend taking over the line conditions, in a necessary contract, which have been agreed upon at a conference on the following with representatives of the County: 1. The six inch (6") meter will be removed and the pipe line connected, a fire hydrant installed, and the entire line chlorinated and tested by the Water De- partment, all au the expense of Norfolk County. 2. As this main is connected to the transmission main from Suffolk to Portsmouth, it is understood that the water pressure may be inadequate for domestic service and will be inadequate for fire service. 3- Should it become necessary to provide pressures higher than may be obtained from our transmission main, Norfolk County will bare the cost of the installation and main- tenance of the necessary pumping equipment. 4. Should conditions recmire the rechlorinating of the water, at this point, the County will provide the equip- ment, housing, and pay the cost of maintenance. 5- If any portion of the main is constructed on private property, the County will provide proper easements. 6. Should it become neoessary ye move the main due to changes in roadways the work will be done by~t~he Water Department at the expense of the County. 7o The County will pay fifty dollars ($50.00) per annum for each fire hydrant connected with tKis main. Consumers will be connected to this main as provided in the water ordinance. 8. Each consumer will pay for his meter. If you will authorize the City Attorney to provide these facts the City can take over the line at an early date."- Motion that the Oity Attorney be authorized ~o draw contract with Nor- folk ~ounty La connection ~_th same, was adopted. -~ 13th "We think well of an experiment which we would like to ~ry, necessitating an ~mendmen~ ~o our parking meter ordinance. Deitrich is interested ~n buying the property formerly owned by Nr. John Dugan and is inclosing his check requesting that t~e Oroperty be sold at public auction. ~' ~ The property is described as follows: 'Deed Book 42, page 96, beginning 81 feet from the southwest corner of Lincoln.and Third Sis., and running southerly 20 feet. This property is 90 feet deep'. Please instruct the City Attorney to sell the property.' Notion of Mr. Warren To instruct the City Attorney to sell said pro ~erty at public auction for ~axes, was adopted. 15th - ~'The Federal Works &geney has agreed ~o advance the'City ~$25,OOO.00 on our proJec~ kb-P-ag for the construction cfa Sewage Disposal Plant. Will you please authorize acceptance of this advance money?"
