G.~Holtzglaw, President,
Vzrgmnia ~lectrzc & Fewer Co,any,
Richmond, Va.

De~r 'N~. Holtzclaw:

In FUrtherance of our correspondence and tele-
grar~ with reference.to the Co-ancil'-s expressing a willingness to
attemp~ a negotiation of a new Con2ract, I feel that the increase
on the co~ercial rate while negotiations are being c~ried on,
is somewhat high. To that end, I ~m respectfully requesting that
the rate for power, incorporated in the expired contract, be
allowed to continue while the City and the Power Company are s tu-
dying a new contract.
We would not ask this except for a very close
budget and the increased amo-~ut, extending possibly from thirty
to ninety days, would work a hardship on the City's limited budget.
We trust that this suggestion will receive you~
favorable consideration.
Cordially yours,

Arthur S.
