<br />~Some yea~s ago the City Council appropriated.money to purchase, all lots
<br />in the block nu~nbered 36 on the plat of Prentis Park, except those owned
<br />by the School Board. The land was desired for playground pumposes. All
<br />lots were p~chased except seven. Three of the o~rners could nd~ be lo -
<br />cared and the other one would not sell to the City. I have recently se -
<br />cured a deed from the heirs of Ida N. Carrington for lots numbers 28 and
<br />29 at the price of One Hundred m~d Fifty Dollars per lot sst by the City
<br />Council. Out of this must be paid the taxes dn~ the City amounting to
<br />
