My dear Mr. Th~ockmorton: ~ Acknowledgment is made t~ you~ letter of March 1st, 1947, regard- ing the proposed contract with the City of Portsmouth and as i explained to you in o-~ con - ference earlier this year, i would still recommend to the Council a one year contract or a contract that ~uld release the City from its agreement in ~cme reasonable time. ! can not thi~k it for the best interest of the City to make a long te~ma~reement and to that end, I feel that ray obligation i s to recommend what I consi- der to be the best interest and therefore I will certainly make a recommendation to the Coun- cil on Hatch ilth, 194V and you will be advised ct their action immediately Yours very truly, Arthum S. 0v~ens, City Msnager." They ama willing to give to the City twenty per cent of all reve=~e t~en and I ~n requesting you~ authority to let them come in on that basis.~' Motion of Mr. Warren to concur in the Emuager's recommendation,provided the show closed at 10:30 P.M., was adopted. 8th "~oth No~ff~l~ City ~nd o~folk County have a charge for s ewer connections and in adv.a~.cement o.z o~ modern system, I am recommending that we place an ordi- nance on its first readmug, msJkzng a charge of ..~25.00 for each sewer connecti6~o" Motion o~ ~. I am re0om~ending that he be allowed the use of the building at $100.00 a month rental with a thirty day recapture clause in the agreement."
