<br />last meeting I have filed petitions for appeals w~h the Supreme
<br />Court of Appeals of Virginia, and I re~aest that my action in t_his
<br />regard be %oproved.

<br /> the members o£ the Council may, in the mem%time, n~ke a study ~

<br />The following letter from t he School Board was read:

<br /> "The School Board has been deliberating for the past three months ov-
<br />er the matter of redistricting the City into school Districts to include the newly annexed
<br />areas. The School Board has this r eponsibility under the Code of Virginia, Chapter 38, Section
<br />7V6 - "Number and Bounds of School Districts - The School Boards of the respective C~ les
<br />shall have power, sub~ect to the approval of Mae .Common Counczls, to p_ escr=b~ the numbe~ and
<br />bounds of the School Districts ---", The law also provides that there shall ce three members
<br />from each district the terms of whom shall expire one-third each year.
<br /> The~ School Board, on ~iday, June 18th, adopted the following reso-
<br />lution:

<br />Districts to include the newly annexed areas; that there
<br />be three school districts as at present with a total of nine
