This mat- ter was referred to the Planning Board for their recommendation a nd they do recommend a s fol- lows: The City consider abandoning all the streets within the prGject as asked by the United States Navy aud in addition,they consider abandoning the George Washington Highway from Green Street to the center llne of Effingham Street, also abandoning Green St., f ~om Gosport Head to the George ~ashington Highway and in metumn for the sumrender of these rights of way, t o the United States Navy, that the United States Navy be aaked to bea~ the cost of widening Chestnut Street from Gosport Road to the George Washington Highway."
