Report of the City Clerk and Auditor for June was received and ordered Filed. ~ne followingcommunmcatzon' ' from the City i~ianager, laid on the table on J~U~e 14th,' 194~, was, on motion of Nr. ~¥~a~ren-, continued on table: "I should like an ordinance establishing a parking meter area on both sides of Fourth Street, bet~een Gosport Road and Edwards Street. I suggest that these meters be equipped to afford one hour parking for five cents and two hou~ parking for ten cents. There will'be the necessary loading and unload- ing zone left in the area, for use by the business people. ThTs condition i s br~ought about by some of the Navy Yard~ work'rs park- ina their cars in this area early in th~ morning and leavin~ them there all day, which greatl inconveniences the shoppers and business people who wish to do business in this area."
