Miles~ General Housing Manager, Public Housing <br />rich, lll Johnson St., Portsmouth, Virginia, concerning the request by the City of~ortsmoubh <br />that we dedicate a right of way located within the project boundaries of Barlow Homes, VA - <br />4~088, for the purpose cT extending~Detroit Street. <br /> Consideration has been given to the~City's request, ~ut it is not <br />deemed feasible to grant the same on the basis of the request as presently submitted. ~e will <br />be glad, however, to further consider dedication of a right of way which the City desires and <br />as indicated on the plat which accompanied your letter, provided the City of Port,curb is <br />agreeable~to the following: <br /> <br /> Accept dedication from the Government of the entire length <br /> of Cambridge Avenue from t hat point at which the Dresently <br /> requested right of way of Cambridge Avenue to the sou~ern <br /> bo~udary o f the project. The streets referred to in <br />this letter were Chestnut Street, from the Seaboard Railroad going south to Gosport Road, <br />Columbia, Cuthrell, Green, Elm Ave. and Godwin Street (between King and Hig2~). These streets <br />have been inspected and I find that they do not have curbs and gutters; however, our City bud- <br />get v~ll not provide for the construction o f curbs and gutters this year. <br /> I recommend that a further study be made of the request an8 <br />if possible that it be included in next year's budget.~' <br /> <br />0n motion filed. <br /> <br /> 15th - "This ~etter is to report to you ~e sale of lot 99 in <br />Block and property adjacent thereto ~n the sum of $100.00 for w~cn the deed was made to <br />the Tz~.stees of the Park vmew Baptms2 Church.. <br /> It was discovered that the taxes on this property amounted <br />to slightly more than $~00.00 and the check was turned over to the City Collector to apply on <br />the taxes, rather than to be entered on the miscellaneous receipts of the City amd by s o doing <br />leaving the t axes as an unpaid outstanding item.'~ <br /> <br />On motion filed. <br /> <br /> 10th - "~he question of placing e barricade at the corner of High <br />and Crawford Street~ was referred to me for action. <br /> t take pleasure in advising you that a standard concrete <br />sign post marker has been pieced at this intersection and that the proper street name will b e <br />placed upon the sign as soon as the work can be done in a satisfactorymanner." <br /> <br />On motion filed. <br /> <br /> 17th - "I herewith submit a copy of the tentative revised plans <br />for the Police headquarters to be located on the corner of North au d Green Streets. <br /> If these plans meet with y our approval, I recommend that I <br />be authorized to proceed to exercise the options secured on the property and to condemn those <br />items of property that we c~u not purchase, and proceed to advertise for bids for the con - <br />struction of said building." <br /> <br /> ~otion o f ~r.
