Recommendation

· Approval of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to sign all necessary
documents for the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Grant.

Purpose and Need:

· Chesapeake Bay Local AsSistance grants are provided by the State to help
localities offset Chesapeake Bay Act implementation expenses.

The funding is awarded directly to local governments and planning districts on a
very competitive basis. The City has been successful in applying for and
receiving this grant for the past seven years. Approximately $572,000 in financial
assistance funds will be available to localities. We ara applying for $32,795.

· If the grant is awarded, it will offset some of the costs associated with
administering the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act.

Financial Impact:

The grant would be matched with cash match services. The cash match will be in
the form of current departmental budgeted matching salaries and support
services.
