March 11,1997 <br /> <br />PARCEL 3 <br /> <br />All those certain pieces, or parcels of land, with their improvements, <br />lying situate, and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and being <br />Parcels 2, 3, 4 and 5 as shown on that certain plat entitled <br />"Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Urban Renewal- <br />Weaver Redevelopment Project, Boundary and Prope~, Line Map, <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia", made by R: Kenneth Weeks, Engineers, <br />Norfolk, Virginia, dated January 17, 1967, which said plat is duly <br />recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia in 'Map Book 5 at page 64. <br /> <br />All right, title and interest which the Grantor has, if any, in and to <br />closed portions of Thomas Circle, Clifford Street, Crabapple (formerly <br />Pine) Street; Bart Street and Griffin Street which lie adjacent to Parcels <br />1 and 2, or within parcel 1 as described herein, and all right, title and <br />interest the Grantor may have, if any, in and to Lots 31 and 33 as <br />shown on the "Plan of Tabb's Land". <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia that the City Manager be, and he hereby is authorized, to make such further <br />deed, or deeds, as he may deem necessary, appropriate and in the best interest of <br />the City, to convey property, or interest therein, to Portsmouth Redevelopment and <br />Housing:Authority, or its assigns in title, in order to complete the Ida Barbour <br />Redevelopment Project." <br /> <br />Ayes: Berm, Clemons, Griffin, Martin, Pitts, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />97-77 - <br /> <br />Resolution authorizing the City Manager to sign all necessary <br />documents pertaining to the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Grant. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />· Approval of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to sign all necessary <br /> documents for the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Grant. <br /> <br />Purpose and Need: <br /> <br />· Chesapeake Bay Local AsSistance grants are provided by the State to help <br /> localities offset Chesapeake Bay Act implementation expenses. <br /> <br />The funding is awarded directly to local governments and planning districts on a <br />very competitive basis. The City has been successful in applying for and <br />receiving this grant for the past seven years. Approximately $572,000 in financial <br />assistance funds will be available to localities. We ara applying for $32,795. <br /> <br />· If the grant is awarded, it will offset some of the costs associated with <br /> administering the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />The grant would be matched with cash match services. The cash match will be in <br />the form of current departmental budgeted matching salaries and support <br />services. <br /> <br /> <br />
