Collins, Assis- <br />taut to Mr.Anderson and Mr. A. E. McClure of the Washington office~ of the B.~reau of Public Roads. Mr. Houghton <br />and Mr. Howard were forceahly presented the position of the City of Portsmouth in this matter and Luformed the <br />representatives present of the desire of the ~several proper~y owu~ers affected in the matter an~ re~uested that <br />if there was any way possible to do so, that it was the desire of the City Co?&ucil to have the pro~ect con <br />strncted as pl~r~ned for the intersection at H~uilton Avenue and High St., except that the Council was defi4itely <br />opposed to closing any part of ~r Line Boulevard. The officials of the Highway Department and Public -Roads <br />took the question under advisement and their report is attached hereto.
