Greenway Drive. I am attaching hereto a copy of my letter to Mrs. Martin in answer to her complaint.
On motion filed.

54-120. "I submit the a~rached report of the Department of Public Welfare for the month of
March 1954 and I am reporting that an amendment to the State Code was enacted at the 1952 session of the Legis-
lature whereby the Department of Public Welfare will not be required to file these reports with the governing
body un ess the Council requests it by an ordinance.
I do not recommend that the Council adopt such an ordinance at the present time
since there is filed in the office of the Director of Social Service in the City of Portsmouth a copy available
at all times for inspection and information; however, if the Council desires that the Department file a copy each
month, it will require an ordinance by the Council."
