<br /> 'Motion of Mr. Howard that the City Manager present a letter to the Norfolk County Boa
<br />of Supervisors to ascertain if the Supervisors will be agreeable to dividing the real esIate of Norfolk County Fer~
<br />ties By the City ef Portsmouth taking the property on the Portsmouth side of the river, and Norfolk County taking
<br />the property on t~he Norfolk side of the river, and if this settlement can not he c~ns,rmmated, the Council of the
<br />City of Portsmouth believes ~mmediate steps should Be taken to dispose of the entire real estate holdings of the
<br />Ferries~ was adopted.'

<br /> On motion made by Mr. Treakle, seconded by Mr. Miller, the Board referred this matter
<br />to Attorneys James N. Gsrrett, Major M. Billard, and Peter~Axson, Jr., same to determine extent c~f ownership
<br />of the ferry properties. The Board,~furthermore, suggested that the City also refer the matter to its at~rneys
<br />for the same purpose. Additional~y~ the Board appointed itself a comm~ittee of the whole to act on this matter.
