<br />I am inclosing a copy of a resolution passed at the meeting held on OctoBer 1Tth, 1955, opposing any extension

<br />the City council in event that the matter of rezoning of the preper~y near the church comes before the Council.''

<br /> Motion of Mr. Hawks to concur in the rec~e~dation of the Planning Commission on
<br />the application for rezoning of Mrs. Madeline edom, was adopted.

<br /> Motion of Mr. Hawks to concur in the recommendation of the Planning Cnmmtssion on
<br />the application of the Spur Distributing Company for rezoning, was adopted.

<br /> Motion of~r.Smit~ to ccmcur in th~ recommendation of ~hePlau~ing Commission in
<br />~enying the application of ~D.A. Gibbs, was adopted.

<br />55-263 - The following reports' from the City F~anager were re-ad:

<br /> 55-263 - "At a previous meeting of the City council, the q~estion of acquiring additional
<br />right of way for the purpose of widening Locust Way between West~ Road and County Road, w~s referred to me.
<br /> Conferences hale been held a~ which time bLayor Duke met with mamhers ~f the Boar~
<br />of Directors of Maryview Hospital smd a conference was held ~oday at whic~ time there were present Mo~axghor
<br />Goevart, Mayor Duke and myself.
<br /> After considering all matters pertaining to the case, I rscommend that the. City of-
<br />fer the Bo~rd of Directors of ~aryview Hospital ~he sum of $3,00B.00 for a parcel or strip of land 20 feet in
<br />width on the erst side of Locust Way extendink from County Road to Wesl Road ahd if this offer is accepted and
<br />the street Widened, that a traffic control Signal be installed at the intersection of County Road and Locust Way
<br />and one at the intersection b~ Locust Way and West Road."

<br /> "we, the undersigned citizens and property owners of this city in the vicinity of
<br />Glasgow St., from Effingham St. west f~uroughout, the said street are appealing to you and the City Council in
<br />regard to t~e city ordinance that prohibits parking on the said s~reet.
