Nosh Stublen was read: <br /> <br /> "It is with regret that I must ~k you to accept my resignation as a member of the Portsmouth <br />City SchoOl B6ard. I Iong~u~v~ felt that our lm~.blic schools arethe key to our growth as an outstanding com- <br />munity. Portsmeuth can be prou~ of its s~hools and my recent appointment by you to serve in such a position of <br />trust is the highest honor that has ever come tome. As you know, ~ am a career newspaperman, and the demands <br />of the profession are sncha~ to make it impossible to devote [he time my conscience would require of me as a <br />board member. ~ feel ver~ strongly that the people of our city, and our children, deserve and e~rpec~ School <br />Board representation whichwouldno~ be subjected ~o a secondary position because of out of town assignments, <br />emergency~news breaks and other factors wkich are common te the newspaper profession.
