~6-14~ - "I .submit herewith the repor~ of the viewers for the vacation of certain
Istreets and a resolution calling for a public hearing."

"The undersigned viewers appointed by the Council of the'City of Portsmouth, pursuant
to a resolution adop%ed at its regular meeting April ~4, 1956, did on the ~nd day of May, 195S, conv~ms in the
area set forth in the resolution and examined the premises and the streets proposed to be closed.

It is the opinion of the viewers that little, if any, inconvenience will be caused to
the public in the discontinuance and vacation in the streets as set forth in the resolution; that the streets are
in an ares.developed inN®rfolk County abeut 1900 and since that time there has been no development of the area
and few buildings constructed in the area; that in many instances the streets as laid down on the plat.of Virgini
Realty ~md Investment Company have never been cut through on the ground; that none of the streets in the area,
even if cut through on the ground, were hard-surfaced. Your viewers therefore recommend that the requested
discontinuance and vacation of the streets as set forth in the resolution b~ concurred in by the City Council.
