Interim <br />financing will be from existing cash on hand until permanent financing is in place. <br /> <br />1. Dr. Max King, 16 Eleanor Court, spoke in support of the proposed course <br />improvements. ~ <br /> <br />2. Bernie Rull, 805 Dixon Road, spoke in support of the proposed course <br />improvements. <br /> <br />3. Vernon Randall, 206 Wynn Street,-spoke in support of the proposed course <br />improvements. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Clemens, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $1,076,000 FROM THE CAPITAL: <br />IMPROVEMENTS FUND FOR RENOVATIONS TO THE CITY PARK GOLF <br />COURSE." <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Clemens, Griffin, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Holley <br />NayS: None <br /> <br />97-196- <br /> <br />Adoption of an ordinance approving precinct changes of three locations <br />due to the increased number of registered voters. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />· Adoption of an ordinance chang jig the foll~owing proc ncts as proposed by the <br /> ElectOral Board: <br /> <br />Precinct#1- Monumental Methodist Church, 450 Dinwiddie Street to <br /> Emanuel A.M.E. Church, 637 North Street. <br /> <br />Precinct #5 - Wesley Community Center, 1701 Elm Avenue to Portsmouth <br /> Community Health Center, 664 Lin&oln Street.~ <br /> <br />Precinct #11 , t,. C; Norcom High School, 2900 Turnpike Road to Mt. Hermon <br /> Community Improvement Foundati0nl Inc., 2400 Cutherell <br /> Street. <br /> <br />Purpose and Need: <br /> <br />Due to the increased number of registered voters, the facilities and parking areas <br />are inadequate to accommodate the voters. <br /> <br />The closing of L C. Norcom High SchoOl, as well as the deteriorating <br />condition of the voting area, requires a precinct change. <br /> <br /> <br />
