<br />was requested, st the last Council meeting, ~o prepare:

<br />"WI~EREAS, th~ Portsmouth Area Council of Garden Clubs, in keeping with the purposes
<br />of their organizations, -have undertaking the plarnling and expanse of landscaping
<br />the area i~mediately in front of the Municipal Building, recently acquired by ~he
<br />City of Portsmouth; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the area so~andscapad is. now most attractive, enhancing 5he Municipal
<br /> Building and the lower end of High Street,
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth,Virginia,
<br />that the appreciation of the citizens of this City for the landscaping in front
<br />of ~ the Municipal Building be hereby expressed and conveyed to the Portsmouth Area
<br />Council of Garden Clubs.

<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the
<br />minutes of this Council and a copy thereof be presented to each organization
<br />participating in the aforesaid projecz.
