<br />60--22 The following letter from the MayflowerP~rk Civic League was read:

<br /> "At the meeting of the Mayflower Park Civic League, a motion was made and carried that
<br />the Secretary write ~o the Portsmouth City Co, nell concerning a body of water 'be{ween the second and third sec -
<br />tions of MayflowerPark on the 200 block of Mayflowe~ Rd~, Can~&dFby i~proper drainage. This is a very hazardous
<br />condition from a health standpoint ae well as a safety h~zard. It is on a curve~of the road, with steep banks and
<br />no guard rails or f. ence around it, and it contains 3 to 4 feet of s~agnated wa~er. Children have been observed
<br />sliding down the embankment and leaning over the edge of the water ~o pi~k ca~' tails. This is a breeding place
<br />for mosquitoes and snakes, and during the summer it iscovered withe green substanc~ with a very obnoxious
<br />odor. We would .~eeply appreciate any help the Council w~uld give us in helpingto alleviate our community of
<br />this deplorable condition.
