<br /> This amends Section 18-322 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1961,
<br />The amendment is being requested 5o place the proper license fee on truck lines located in Portsmouth and
<br />operating pick-up and delivery service. These trucks are classified as for-hire carriers and this amends the
<br />weight groups in this classification besween 18,001 and 22,000 pounds ss follows:

<br />18,001 - 19,000 lbs.
<br />19,001 - 20,000 lbs.
<br />20,001 - 21,000 lbs.
<br />21,001 - 22,000 lbs.
<br />

<br />$4.70 to $3.00

<br /> This amends Section 18-318 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, ~irginia, 1961.
<br />This replaces the original fee charge for employee hauler buses and was agreed to at the time that the City
<br />Council agreed to issue a permit for these buses.

<br /> This amends Chapter 21 of the Code of the CiTy of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1961,
<br />concerning the appo~ntmen5 of members to the Planning Commission and adding a new section.relating to functions,
<br />powers, and duties of the Planning Commission. This ordinance is necessary to. conform to-the State law inacted
<br />by the 1962 General Assembly. It changes the membership of the Commission by elimination of ~wo of the City
<br />employee members and replaces them with citizen members, one of which may be a Councilman.
<br /> There is no material change in the powers and duties of the Commission; jus~ a change
<br />in the wording."

<br />reading. This amends.Section lO1 of the License Tax Ordinance to establish a license tax on machines for the
<br />cleaning and polishing of bowling balls.
<br />The ordinance also requmres every coin--m~ehine~operator 5o furnish a complete list
<br />of all machines on location and names and addresses of each loc~fion-to the Commissioner of R~venue upon request.
<br /> In addition to the tax on machines, each opera,or shall pay a license 5ax of $500.00
<br />and deposit with the Conlmissioner of Revenne a bond in the amount of $1,000.00 ~o insure the filing of the list
<br />of machines and locations."
