<br /> Contract A covers the area from the water plant in Suffolk along. Constance Road in theCity of
<br />Suffolk. Contract B is from Constance Road along Wilroy Koad to the A ~ D right of way. Contract R is along the

<br /> Alternate 1 is ductile iron anff cnst iron. Alternate 2 is concre~ce pipe. Alternate 3 is steel pipe.
<br />It is recommended that concrete pipe be used along Con~tance Road in the City of Suffolk under contract A as this
<br />will serve primarily an a transmissionmmain ~nd not. subject, to service taps. It is recommended that ductile iron
<br />be used along Wilroy Road under contract B. This main will be tapped for service aleng the majority of its ~ength,
<br />also the majority Of lhe ~iD.~s~located within the highway right o{ way and hence i~ is subject to some possible
<br />£u~ure re~ocation~ It is ~ommended that ductile and cast itoh'combination be used along the railroad u~der
<br />contract R. This is recommended as it would be much less costly to ta~ for all $~ze$ of future connections and
<br />could be more~ ren~y moved laterally or vertically should thi~ be requested in the fut~e. ~t also can be more
<br />easily and economically repaired by the Water Depertment employees.
<br /> Based on the above recommendations, A. D. Pinkston is the tow bidder on contract A, Alternate 2 in
<br />the amount of $305,26g.57, contract B, Alternate i in the amount of $395,686.45, contract R, Alternate i in the
<br />amount of $872,659.40~ making a total of 1,5~3,64~.42. - I recommend that the con~ract he awarded, this firm for the
<br />above amounts."
