He <br />intends very shortly to make some changes in the traffic lane marking and in parking regulations which should <br />improve traffic flow at these intersections.") <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Barnes to receive as information was adopted, without dissenting vote. <br /> <br /> 64-522 - "This will inform the City Council of the expiration of the Terms of Mrs. R. E. McMurran, <br />Mr. Belvin W. Blachman, and ~. ~bses F. ~ibson on the Library Board. These terms exnired December 1, 1964. The term of Mr. R. L. Sweeney of the Minimum Housing Board expires December 51, 1964. <br /> The terms of ~]r. Carroll A. ~hson and Mr. D. M. Tatem of the Planning Commission expire December 51, <br />1964. <br /> The terms of the members of the Library. Board are for a period of three years and the Minimum Housing <br />Board and the Planning Commission terms are for periods of four years." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes to go into the election of members of the Library Board was adopted without <br />dissenting vote. <br /> <br />~. Hastes nominated Mrs. R. F. McMurran, Belvin Blachman and Moses Gibson. <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Knight, the nominations were closed. <br /> <br /> Vote being taken Mrs. Mcb~rran and Mr. Blachman and Mr. Gibson were elected members of the <br />Portsmouth Library Board for a term of three years beginning December 1st, 1964. <br /> <br />Motion of-~F~7~ Barnes to go into the election of a member of the Minimum Housing Board was adopted. <br />Mr. Dillon nominated R. L. Sweeney. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Knight, the nominations were closed. <br /> <br /> Vote being taken, Mr. Sweeney was unanimously elected to the Minimum Housing Board for a term of <br />three years beginning January 1, 1965. <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Barnes to go into the election of members to the Planning Commission was adopted. <br />Mr. Barnes nominated Carroll A. Mason and D. M. Tatem. <br /> <br /> Vote being taken, ~<T. Mason and Mr. Tatem were unanimously elected members of the Planning Commission <br />for four year terms, beginning January 1, 1965. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />64-302 - The following ordinance, approved on first reading at last meeting was taken up and read: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $2,500.00 FROM THE GENERAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR <br />ENGINEERING STUDIES ON /~E COAST GUARD LIGHTSHIP MUSEUM" <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Knight, the ordinance was adopted and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Smith, Barnes, Dillon, Eastes, Johnson, Knight, Leafy <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />64-505 - The following ordinance approved on first reading at last meeting was taken up and read: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, BY ADDING ~ERETO <br />THREE NEW SECTIONS NUMBERED 19-68.1, PROVIDING PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF SUNDAY WORK ORDINANCE, <br />19-69.2, .~AKING CONTINUAL VIOLATIONS A NUISANCE, AND 19-68.5, P~LATING TO THE OBSERVANCE OF <br />SATURDAY" <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Dillon the ordinance was adopted and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes: Smith, Barnes, Dillon, Eastes, Johnson, Knight, Leafy <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br />64-308 - The following ordinance ~oproved on first readin~ at last meetiny was taken up and r6ad: <br /> <br />"~N ORDINANCE TO BAqEND SECTIONS 3-28, $-31 AND 5-22 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1961, SO AS TO REOUIRE ALL DOGS OVER SIX MONTHS OLD TO BE VACCINATED" <br /> <br /> <br />
