BY <br />ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION NUMBERED 17.1 <br />~ROVIDING THAT NO~ttlTHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISIONS <br />OF SAID ORDINANCE THE SALES TAX S}~ALL BE COLLECTED <br />ON EVERY NON~BXE~IPT SALE WITHOUT REGARD TOT HE PLACE <br />OF DELIVERY ~P THE GOODS OR THE PLACE ]qHERE SUCH <br />GOODS ARE TO BE USED) STORED OR CONSUMED. Johnson, representing the First District. <br />Mr. W. Robert Anderson, representing the Second District. <br />Mr. John W. Shuler, ?~r6s~nting the Third District. <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Johnson to close nominations was adopted. <br /> <br /> Vote being taken the three nominees were unanimously elected to the School <br />Board for three year terms, expiring June 50th, 1968.~ <br /> <br />adonted: <br /> <br />The following resolution was read, and on motion of Mr. Dillon, was unanimously <br /> WHEREAS, James H. Griffin has served on the Portsmouth School Board <br /> <br />for nearly five years; and <br />of the school board: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, James H. Griffin has been a dedieated and faithful member <br /> <br /> NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth. <br />Virginia. that the appreciation of the Citizens of this City for the service .rendered by James H. Griffin <br />on the Portsmouth School Board be expressed and conveyed to the said James H. Griffin. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED. that a copy of these resolutions be spread <br />upon the minutes of the City Council. and a copy be presented to the said James H. Griffin as a token <br />of the esteem in which he is held by the people of this City." <br /> <br /> 65-165 - Motion of Mn Leafy to go into the election of members to the <br />Recreation Board, was adopted. <br /> <br />Mr. Bastes nominated the following: <br /> <br />J. Lawrence Smith, representing the Planning Commission. <br />John E. Adams,,representing the School Board. <br />John Ivy, for a four year term, expiring June 50th, 1968. <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Leafy to close nominations was adopted. <br /> <br /> Vote being taken, the three nominees were unanimously elected members of the <br />Recreation Board, Mr. Ivy for a four year term, expiring June 50th, 1968. <br /> <br /> 65-102 - Motion or.
