~'AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $19,000 FROM THE <br />GENERAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE PURCHASE <br />OF 208 PINNERS AVENUE AND 218 PINNERS AVENUE" <br /> <br /> 65-287 - "I recommend that I be authorized to advertise for sa.le surplus <br />city property located in the Washington Heights area of the City. <br /> This is a small residue of property left over when the Greenwood <br />Drive right-of-way was obtained, and is of P9 value to the City." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes to concur in the recommendation of the City Manager <br />was adopted, without dissenting vote. <br /> <br /> 65-288 - "At this t~me, I would like to report that Dr. John Wesley Gales <br />has been appointed as the new Director of the Portsmouth City Health Department. <br /> <br />Dr. Gales will assume his duties on December 2, 1965. <br /> <br /> I would also like to request that the City Council appoint Dr. Gales <br />to the Portsmouth Mosquito Control Commission. He will fill the vacancy created by Dr. S. A. Graham." <br /> <br /> Motion of Nr. Barnes that Dr. Gales be appointed to the Portsmouth Mosquito <br />Control Gommission was adopted, without dissenting vote. <br /> <br /> 65-289 - "I recommend that the City Council declare the interchange to be <br />constructed at Harbor Drive and the new Glasgow-London Street expressway a limited access area. <br /> This is requested in order that the State Highway Department <br />will fence this interchange at the time of construction. <br /> In order for the State Highway Department to comply with this <br />request, action by the City Council is necessary." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Dillon to concur in the recommendation of the City Manager <br />was adopted, without dissenting vote. <br /> <br />-UNFINISHED BUSINESS- <br /> <br />was taken up and read: <br /> <br />was taken up and read; <br /> <br />Vote: <br /> <br />was taken up and read: <br /> <br />vote: <br /> <br />was taken up and read: <br /> <br />vote: <br /> <br />65-273 - Thefollowing ordinance, approved on first reading at last meeting, <br /> <br /> "ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z 65-25" <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Knight, the ordinance was adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes: Smith, Barnes, Dillon, Johnson, Knight, Leafy <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br />65-275 - The following ordinance, approved on first reading at last meeting, <br /> <br />"ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z 65-24" <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Johnson, the ordinance was adopted, and by the f~llowing <br /> <br />Ayes: Smith, Barnes, Dillon, Johnson, Knight, Leafy <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />65-274- The following ordinance, approved on first reading at last meeting, <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $5,000.00 FROM <br />THE GENERAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF PROPERTY AT 1850 QUEEN STREET" <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Barnes, the ordinance was adopted, and by the following <br /> <br />Ayes: Smith, Barnes, Dillon, Johnson, Knight, Leafy <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />65-275 = The following ordinance, approved on first reading at last meeting, <br /> <br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $15,000.00 FROM <br /> THE GENERAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE <br /> RENOVATION OF THE COURTHOUSE TO PROVIDE <br /> FACILITIES FOR THE JL~ENILE AND DOMESTIC <br /> RELATIONS COURT" <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Knight, the ordinance was adopted, and by the following <br /> <br />Ayes: Smith, Barnes, Dillon, Johnson, Knight, Leafy <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> <br />
