This increases the bus fares for Community Motor Bus Company from 20 cents to 25 cents <br />per passenger within the City limits. <br /> <br />This also increases the rate for school tickets from 10 cents to 12 1/2 cents. <br /> <br />A formal request from the Community Motor Bus Company is attached hereto. <br /> <br />This increase will be effective Sunday, October 2, at 2:00 a.m." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Leafy, the following ordinance was approved on first reading, without <br />dissenting vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 5-30 OF Tile CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, <br />1961, INCREASING THE RATE OF PARE TO BE CHARGES ON INTRAURBAN BUSES" <br /> <br /> 66-159 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend thht it be placed on first <br />reading. <br /> <br /> This amends the ordinance which ~as adopted last month pertaining to the <br />Ret~ rement System eliminating the return of employees' contributions under $25. The Board of <br />Trustees of the Portsmouth Retirement System has recommended that the refunds of contributions <br />not be made for amounts less than $10 rathe~ than $25. <br /> <br />This amendment complies with the recommendation of the trustees." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Eastes, the following ordinance was approved on first reading, without <br />dissenting vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 26-57 AND 26-38 OF THE CODE.OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1961, TO PROVIDE THAT REFUNDS OF LESS THAN TEN DOLLARS WILL NOT BE MADE" <br /> <br /> 66-160 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend that it be nlaced on first <br />reading. This appropriates $$0~000 for the construction efa new boat ramp at City Park. <br /> <br /> This covers the $24,000 for the construction of the ramp, plus $6,000 for <br />site improvements such~as parking area and Moadways. <br /> <br /> We will receive approximately $7,000 from the State as a contribution toward <br />the construction of this ramp." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Johnson, the following ordinance was approved on first reading, without <br />dissenting vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE g30,O00.O0 FROM THE GENERAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR <br />THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BOAT RAb{P AT CITY PARK" <br /> <br /> 66-161 - "I submit the atZa~hed ordinance and recommend that it be placed on first <br />reading.
