,25; 66-157 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend that it be placed on first reading. This appropriates $14,100 for the purchase of property in Pinners Point in connection with the development of the marine terminal. This is for the property of Mr..Frank Brooks at 101 Seaboard Avenue in the amount of $7,600, and the property af Mr. E. B. ;{ilson at 154 Seaboard Avenue and Lot 93 on Pinners Avenue in the amount of $6,500." On motion of Mr. Knight, the folImving ordinance was approved on first reading, without dissenting vo~e: "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $14,100.00 FROM THE GENERAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF PROPERTY AT I~!~SEABOARD AVENUE, SEABOARD AVENUE AND LOT 93 ON PINNERS AVENUE IN PIMNERS POINT" 154 66-158 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend thht it be placed on first reading. This increases the bus fares for Community Motor Bus Company from 20 cents to 25 cents per passenger within the City limits. This also increases the rate for school tickets from 10 cents to 12 1/2 cents. A formal request from the Community Motor Bus Company is attached hereto. This increase will be effective Sunday, October 2, at 2:00 a.m." On motion of Mr. Leafy, the following ordinance was approved on first reading, without dissenting vote: "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 5-30 OF Tile CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, INCREASING THE RATE OF PARE TO BE CHARGES ON INTRAURBAN BUSES" 66-159 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend thht it be placed on first reading. This amends the ordinance which ~as adopted last month pertaining to the Ret~ rement System eliminating the return of employees' contributions under $25. The Board of Trustees of the Portsmouth Retirement System has recommended that the refunds of contributions not be made for amounts less than $10 rathe~ than $25. This amendment complies with the recommendation of the trustees." On motion of Mr. Eastes, the following ordinance was approved on first reading, without dissenting vote: "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 26-57 AND 26-38 OF THE CODE.OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, TO PROVIDE THAT REFUNDS OF LESS THAN TEN DOLLARS WILL NOT BE MADE" 66-160 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend that it be nlaced on first reading. This appropriates $$0~000 for the construction efa new boat ramp at City Park. This covers the $24,000 for the construction of the ramp, plus $6,000 for site improvements such~as parking area and Moadways. We will receive approximately $7,000 from the State as a contribution toward the construction of this ramp." On motion of Mr. Johnson, the following ordinance was approved on first reading, without dissenting vote: "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE g30,O00.O0 FROM THE GENERAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BOAT RAb{P AT CITY PARK" 66-161 - "I submit the atZa~hed ordinance and recommend that it be placed on first reading. This establishes a fee of $2 for the purchase of official police photographs. We are receiving numerous r~quests from lawyers and insurance companies for these photographs, particularly of traffic accidents. Until the present time, we have not. allowed the release of these photographs. We have found that other cities in the area are releasing them for a fee of $2. We are proposzng to do the same, in order to recover our costs." On motion of Mr. King, the following ordinance was approved on first reading, without dissenting "AN ORDINkNCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF ~{E CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION NUMBERED 2-S7,7 , AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO FURNISH COPIES OF OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHS AND ESTABLISHING ,THE FEE THEREFOR"
