<br /> 67-91 - "I submit the attached resolution and recommend its adoption.
<br /> This appoints viewers for the closing of a portion of South Street between Westmoreland
<br />Avenue and Baines Creek.
<br /> This has been requested by the adjacent property owners and has been approved by
<br />the Planning Commission."

<br /> On motion of ~. Eastes, the following resolution was adopted without dissenting vote:
<br /> WHEREAS, Arthur Muirand JeweI1J. Muir have made application to vacate and close that
<br />portion of South Street lying between a line twenty feet west of the western right of way line of
<br />Westmoreland Avenue and the center of Bains Creek, and it appearing that notice of the application and
<br />request for ~he appointment of viewers was duly posted on March 27, 1967, on the bulletin board of
<br />the Court of Hustings for the City of Portsmouth, on the bulletin board of the Circuit Court of the
<br />City of Portsmouth, and on the bulletin board of the Municipal Court of the City!'of Portsmouth.
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLYED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that
<br />W. T. Stowe, Jr., Mrs. Nellie MI, ers, L. E. Snyder, H. S. Hardcastle and J. H. Hardin be appointed
<br />viewers to view said street and report to this council in writing whether in their opinion any,
<br />and if any, what inconvenience would result from vacating and closing the aforementioned part of
<br />South Street."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Leafy, the following resolution was adopted, without dissenting vote:

<br />an alley lying between the eastern right of way line of Cushing Street and a line ~ety-two feet emst
<br />thereof, and it appearing that notice of the application and request for the appointment of viewers
<br />was duly posted on March gl, 1967, on the.bulletin board of the Court of Hus~ings for the City of Portsmouth,

<br />appointed viewers to view said alley and repart to this council in writing whether in their opinion
<br />any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from vacating and closing the aforementioned alley."

<br /> 67-93 - "I submit the attached list of delinquent water and sewage accounts in the amohnt of
<br />$16,554.87 and recommend that they be charged off.
<br /> T also submit the attached list of guarantee deposits in the amount of $10,402.93 and
<br />recommend that they be charged off.
<br /> This makes a net charge off of'$5,951.94.
<br />We will continue to attempt to clear up these accounts, but this operation is being
<br />transferred to the coraputor at this time; and these accounts should be removed from the active file."

<br /> 67-94 - "I recommend that a refund of $69.54 be g~anted to Garfield M. and Jean V. Griffin, 1517 Centre
<br />Avemle.
<br /> Through error, a duplicate assessment was made for the 5rd and 4th quarters of 1966 and
<br />paid twice."
<br />
<br />Motion of Mr. Leafy that the refund be granted was adopted, without dissenting vote.
<br />
<br /> 67-95 - "It is requested that the City Council adjourn this meeting until 11:50 a.m., Wednesday,
<br />April 12, 1967, to consider an ordinance on first reading for the sale of $8,500,000 of General
<br />ObI%gation Bends.
<br /> By doing this, it will not be necessary tb have a special called meeting."

<br />67-72 - The following ordinance, approved on first reading at last meeting, was taken up and read:

<br />OF 253 CAROLINA AVENUE AND 142 SEABOARD AVENUE AND LOTS 190 AND 191 ON PINNERS AVENUE IN PINNERS
