Adoption of a motion authorizing the City Manager to transfer
unexpended appropriations from other Capital Improvement Projects to
fund the Children's Museum of Virginia Parking Garage project.

Pu ,ese and Need:

· The change order for the Children's Museum Parking Garage is
necessary because, during the construction process, extensive
deterioration of the structural concrete was found which required
additional repairs to be made. At this time, we do not anticipate any
additional changes in the scope of the project. The contractor for this
work is W. F. Magann Corporation.

· The change order for the Prentis Park Sidewalk contract is necessary
due to unexpected field conditions. With the small scope of the project
and the conditions that arose in the field, it was inevitable that the
changes would exceed the 25% allowable limit. The contractor for this
work is Highway Electric, Inc.

F~inancial Impact:

· The change-order amount for the Children's Muse~um of Virginia Parking
Garage is $479,341.
