July 28. 1998 <br /> <br />Financial Imoact: <br /> <br />· There is no local match required. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. P, obinett, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to transfer <br />$175,197 from the Grants Contingency Fund to support the Community <br />Corrections Program to provide alternatives to incarceration in the City jail for <br />non-violent offenders, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Berm, Griffin, Moody, Robinett, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />98-184 Adoption of a motion to transfer $70,938 from the Grants Contingency <br /> Fund to purchase a new Type I ambulance. <br /> <br />Recommendation_: <br /> <br />· Adeption of a motion to transfer $70,938 from the Grants Contingency <br /> Fund to purchase a new Type I ambulance. <br /> <br />Puri ose and Need: <br /> <br />The City applied to the Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Health, <br />Office of Emergency Medical Services, for a 50/50 grant from the Rescue <br />Squad Assistance Fund to purchase a replacement Type I ambulance. <br /> <br />· This request was approved in the amount of $35,469. <br /> <br />This will enable replacement of a 1992 Type I ambulance that has become <br />unreliable for full time se rvice to the citizens and has been delegated to a <br />reserve capacity. <br /> <br />Financial Im_oact: <br /> <br />The portion of the purchase amount that would remain the responsibility <br />of the City was appropriated in the vehicle replacement line of the Vehicle <br />Service Center Budget. <br /> <br />· There will not be a need for additional funds for this project. <br /> <br />· Department of Health $ 35,469 <br />City of Portsmouth 35,469 <br /> <br />Total $ 70,938 <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to transfer <br />$7(],938 from the Grants Contingency Fund to purchase a new type 1 <br />ambulance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Griffin, Moody, Robinett, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />98-185 Adoption of a motion to transfer $54,466 from the Grants Contingency <br /> Fund for the second year operation of the IDEA Drug and Organized <br /> C rime Grant. A 10% local match of $5,447 is required. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Adoption of a motion to transfer $54,466~from the Grants Contingency <br />Fund for the second year operation of the IDEA Drug and Organized Crime <br />Grant. <br /> <br /> <br />
