Newland, MSi'7., was read: <br /> <br /> "As a psychiatric social worker working in ~rivate practice with a psychiatrist in Portsmouth, <br />I would like to lend you my support in' the pass~ge of the Food Stamp program now before City Council. <br /> <br /> As an interested citizen of Portsmouth %~ho would like to see Portsmouth become a Model City, as <br />well as a social worker interested in the welfare of our people, I urge favorable acceptance of this <br />progrmm. Also, I would like to offer my services, in any way deemed necessary, in the effective and <br />efficient administration of this potentially beneficial program and allowed privilege of speaking to <br />the Council." <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Barnes,st~ermt~ssv~em~mp~mded to hear Miss Newland. <br /> <br />5Iiss Newland was thanked for her presentation. <br /> <br /> 68-121 - Mr. Johnson moved that in the future~ no additional items be brought before the Council, <br />by the Chairman, City Clerk, or any member~ unless copies are in tho hands of the members of Council at <br />least eight hours before the meeting. <br /> <br />The motion received no second. <br /> <br /> 68-122 - Mr. Knight and Mr. Leafy announced that they would not run for re-election to the City <br />Council in June, and expressed their regrets at leaving and their pleasure at having had the opportunity <br />to serve the City. <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
