<br /> "We, the members of Gosport Lodge No. 20 request consideration be given in amending ordinance of City
<br />Code Section 19-10.
<br />
<br /> Any consideration to private clubs holding A. B. C. License for sale of beer on Sunday would be
<br />appreciated"

<br /> 68-217 - The following letter from Portsmouth Lodge No. 82, BPOE, John T. Curren, was read:

<br /> "We, the members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, #82, Portsmouth, Virginia, who hold
<br />an ABC club license, would appreciate if you would amend the city ordinance, which prohibits the sale of beer
<br />between the hours of twelve midnight Saturday and six o'clock Monday morning.
<br />
<br /> Any consideration that can be shown in regards to this matter will be greatly and deeply appreciated."

<br />68-218 - The following letter from Cecil W. Johnson, Clerk of HUStings Court, was read:

<br /> "I submitted the proposed budget for this office the first part of this year. At that time I made every
<br />effort to hold my request to ~n absolute minimum, even though I cuuld not be certain of the effect of annexation
<br />on operational costs·
