Pinkston Company, was adopted, <br />without dissenting vote. <br /> <br /> 69-93 - "I submit the attached resolution and recommend its~ adoption. This authorizes the sale of City <br />of Portsmouth water distribution system located within th~ city limits of the City of Chespaake to the City <br />of Chesapeake. We will not sell the transmission mains located within the City of Chesapeake. <br /> <br /> This resolution also authorizes the signing of a contract for the sale of bulk water to the City of <br />Chesapeake for a period of 15 years. The water is to be sold at the rate of 40~ per thousand gallons for the <br />first billion and a half gallons used mnnually, and 36~ per thousand gallons for all. over that. <br /> <br /> The closing for this contract shall ~e held not less than 10 days after written notice by the City of <br />Chesapeake to the to the City of Portsmouth, provided the master meters have been installed. If no date <br />for the closing is agreed upon, the closing shall be held on June 50, 1969." <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Eastes, the following resolution was adopted, without dissenting vot~: <br /> <br />"RESOL[~ION AL~MORIZING ~HE CITY MANAGER TO EXECbTE A CO~TFRACT WITH THE CITY OF CI{ESAPEAKE <br />PROVIDING FOR THE SALE OF A PORTION OF ~{E WATER DISTRIBOTION SYSTEM OWNED BY THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH ~ND LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF CHESAPEAKE, AND ALSO PROVIDING FOR T~ SALE OF <br />WATER IN BULK TO THE CITY OF CNESAPEAKE <br /> <br /> WHEP~AS, the City of Chesapeake desires to purchase a portion of Portsmouth's water distribution <br />system located within the City of Chesapeake and purchase water in bulk for resale to its inhabitants; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth is willing to sell to Chesapeake a portion of its water distribution <br />system and water in bulk. <br /> <br /> .
