October 13 ~1998 Ayes: Berm, Griffin, Moody, Pitts, Robinett, Whitehurst Nays: None 98-227 Code amendment applications: Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Benn, to adopt the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: 98-227 (a): "ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 33 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY AMENDING SECTIONS 33-2, 33-34, AND 33-58 THEREOF AND BY ADOPTING A NEW SECTION 33-38 PERTAIN lNG TO IN-FILL SUBDIVISIONS." Ayes: Benn, Griffin, Moody, Pitts, Robinett, Whitehurst Nays: None Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to adopt the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: 98-227 (b): "ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 40 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY AMENDING TABLES 40.44-1 AND 40-44-2 THEREOF PERTAINING TO DIMENSIONAL AND YARD REQUIREMENTS FOR IN-FILL SUBDIVISIONS." Ayes: Benn, Griffin, Moody, Pitts, Robinett, Whitehurst Nays: None Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to adopt the following ordinance, and was adopted by the folloWing vote: 98-227 ( c ): "ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 40 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY AMENDING SECTIONS 40-22, 40- 43.4, AND 40-45.6 AND TABLE 40-43.1-3 AND BY REPEALING SECTION 40- 164 THEREOF PERTAINING TO FUNERAL HOMES AND TO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES." Ayes: Benn, Griffin, Moody, Pitts, Robinett, Whitehurst Nays: None - City Manager's Report - 98-238 Adoption of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into a license agreement with KMC Telecommunications and to grant KMC permission to install telecommunications facilities in the City's rights-of-way as part of a regional system, which would enhance the provision of additional telecommunications services throughout the region.
