September 25, 2001 <br /> <br />01 - 275 - Adoption of a motion to approve the Department of Behavioral Healthcare <br />Services' (BHS) FY2002 annual performance contract with the State. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br /> · Adoption of a motion approving the Department of Behavioral Healthcare <br />Services (BHS) annual performance contract with the State for Fiscal Year 2002. <br /> <br />Purpose and Need: <br /> <br />· The State Code requires that the performance contract be approved each year. <br /> <br /> · The Department's budget is approved annually by City Council as part of the <br />City's annual operating budget process. The performance contract, however, displays <br />this budget in the required State format. <br /> <br /> · The performance contract also projects the service levels and number of <br />consumers to be served and specifies the contractual obligations of both the State and <br />BHS. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br /> · The performance contract must be approved for the City to receive State- <br />controlled funds. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Benn, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to approve the <br />Department of Behavioral Healthcare Services' (BHS) FY 2002 annual performance <br />contract with the State, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Griffin, Moody, Pitts, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />01 - 276 - Adoption of a motion to transfer $295,786 from the Grants Contingency <br />Account for funding of the Fiscal Year 2002 Local Law Enforcement Block Grant <br />(LLEBG) Program. <br /> <br />The Police Department will use these funds for technology and equipment, <br />training, and crime prevention initiatives. A local match of $29,579 has been <br />budgeted. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />· Adoption of a motion to transfer $295,786 from the Grants Contingency Account for <br />funding of the Fiscal Year 2002 Local Law Enforcement Block Grant (LLEBG) Program. <br /> <br />Purpose and Need: <br /> <br />· The U.S. Department of Justice has approved funding under the Bureau of Justice, <br />which will provide additional funding for public safety in support of Neighborhood <br />Quality. <br /> <br />· These funds will be used for technology and equipment, training, and crime <br />prevention initiatives. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />· A local match of $29,579 is required for the FY2002 grant and has been budgeted in <br />the Police Department's budget for FY2002. There is no obligation from the City once <br />the grant ends. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to transfer $295,786 from the <br />Grants Contingency Account for funding of the Fiscal Year 2002 Local Law <br />Enforcement Block Grant (LLEBG) Program, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Griffin, Moody, Pitts, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> <br />
