Smith was read: <br /> <br /> "I would like to have the privilege of appearing before theCity Council, in its regular <br />meeting on April 14th, to present a petition requesting water service from theCity of <br />Portsmouth." <br /> <br /> The City Manager made a statement regarding the progress of negotiations for the grantin <br />of this request. <br /> <br />On motion, received as information. <br /> <br />70-153 - The following letter from Mrs. Catherine ~mith, 4433 Faigle Road, was read: <br /> <br /> "Several years ago, a family moved from our community and left a pea hen and peacock. <br />From time to time these two havei~produced like creatures that have caused me considerable <br />worry and inqonvenience and expense. <br /> <br /> At once they set up their roosting place above my clothesline and at times, above my <br />automobile. From either of these roosting places they leap with a tremendous thud to auto- <br />mobile or roof, at daybreak. <br /> <br /> I have, from time to time, appealed to various City departments, by phone-, including <br />the game warden wo did catch one or two of the birds. However, the remaining two and their <br />increases constitute a constant worry and inconvenience -- and expense. <br /> <br /> There are those in the community wo believe that <br />surroundings. They are lovely birds, but at the same <br />in a city. Please help me! Thank you." <br /> <br />these creatures serve to beautify the <br />time not necessary.
