<br /> Motion of Mr. Bastes to amend the ordinmnce by adding at the end of the second sentence "across any
<br />street and shall not be less than fifteen feet from the surface of the gmound~ along the side of any street"
<br />was adopted, with one dissenting vote, that of Mr. Holley.

<br /> Vote being taken, the amended ordinance was placed on first reading and by the following vote:

<br />9~ffm~ed by Mr. H. L. Walker. It has been approved by the Planning Commission and a report of the viewers is
<br />attached hereto."

<br />SI,S00 for the necessary engineering work for the installation of a new crane at the incinerator.

<br /> Due to the increase in the mmount of trash and ga~oage that is now being collected, and the age of the
<br />present crane at ~e incinerator, it is necessary that provisions be made for the installation of a new crane.
<br />~he pre'eat crane is approximately 10 years old, and it is planned to install the new crane with the present
<br />crane being on a standby status and ~J~sed during periods of peak loads at the incinerator. These funds will
<br />provide the necessam/ engineering work.ceded to be done before a new crane cmnbbe installed."

<br /> 70-210 - "t submit the attached ordinance and recommend it be placed on first reading. This appropriates
<br />$4,650 to provide two rest rooms at Twin Pines Recreation Center. These will be built as additions ~o the
<br />present building with outside entrances in order that they can be used by the children when outside activities
<br />are being conducted."

<br />On motion of Mr. Turner, the following ordinance was placed on first reading and by ~he following vote:

<br />The Mayor suggested that all recraation centers be checked for toilet facilities.

<br /> 70-211 - "I submit the attained resolution and recommend its adoption. Tqis appoints five viewers for
<br />the closing of an unnamed lane between Noble and Wall Streets. James Oliver and Adleen Blackman have re-
<br />quested this closing and it has been approved by the Planning Commission."

<br />City of Portsmouth, on the bulletin board of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, and on the bulletin
<br />board of the ~4unicipal Court of the City of Portsmouth.
