Cleaves Manning and Curtis Cone of Curtis Cone Metal Company spoke~ <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. King the following ordinance was approved on first reading and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 4-4 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE C~TY OF PORTSMOUTH, 1961, <br />PERTAINING TO FENCING REQUIREMENTS FOR JUNKYARDS AND SCRAP PROkwESSOR$.'' <br /> <br />Ayes: ttolley, Johnson, King, Smith (R), Turner, Barnes <br />Nays: None ~ <br /> <br />The following reports from the City Manager were read: <br /> <br /> 70-312 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend it be placed on first reading. <br />This updates.the City's Building Code by the adoption of the 1970 revisions to the Southern <br />Standard Building Code. <br /> <br /> These revisions will be incorporated in the Building Code of the City of Portsmouth <br />in order to keep our Code abreast of the most modern codes and methods of construction <br />available, and to insure that the citizens of Portsmouth are provided with the maximum <br />amount of safety at minimum expense." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. King, the following ordinance was approved on first reading and by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THEMBUILDING CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />ADOPTING THE 1970 REVISION TO THE SOUTHERN STANDARD BUILDING CODE." <br /> <br /> Ayes.: Holley, Johnson, King, Smith (R), Turner, Barnes <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br />1970, BY <br /> <br /> 70-313 - '~I sUbmit the attached ordinance and recommend it be. placed on first reading. <br />This updates the City of Portsmouth's Plumbing Code by the adoption of the 1970 amend- <br />ments to the Southern Standard Plumbing Code. <br /> <br /> The Plumbing Examining Board has approved these amendments and has recommended <br />that they be included in the Plumbing Code of the City of Portsmouth.
