1970 <br /> <br />feet tp t~e point of beginning." <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, Johnson, King, Smith (R), Turner, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />UP 70-12 - Application of Business ~ ProfessiOnal Men's Savings Club <br /> <br />No one spoke. <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. King, the following .~e~olution was adopted and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PEPJqlT FgR~ THE OPERATION OF A CONVALESCENT NURSING HO~ <br />AT THE CORNER OF PORTSMOUTH BOULEVARD ~B~ND CHESTI~JT STREET <br /> <br /> ~IEREAS, the Business and Professional Men's Savings Club has made application pursuant to Section <br />4-2 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of a use permit as hereinafter <br />described; and <br /> <br /> I~EREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director have done all things required to be done in connection <br />with said application, and the Planning Commission has recommended the granting of said use permit, subject <br />to the conditions hereinafter stated. <br /> <br />NOW, TNEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />That the use for which the use permit hereinafter described is sought (I)w~ill not <br />adversely affect the health or safety of persons resid~fiB or working in the neighbor- <br />hood of the proposed use, (2) will not be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious <br />to property or improvements in the neighborhood, and (3) will be in accord with the pur- <br />poses of said Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />That the Business and Professional Men's Savings Club is here§y granted a use permit <br />subject to site plan restrictions, pursuant to Section 4-2 of s~id Zoning Ordinance <br />for the operation of a convalescent nursing home located on the property described <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at a point at the southwest intersection of Portsmouth Boulevard and <br />Chestnut Street; thence running westerly along the south~rm right-of-way line <br />of Portsmouth Boulevard 187.88 feet to a point; thence running southerly 143 feet, <br />more or less, to a point; thence running westerly 30 feet, more or less, to a point; <br />thence ru~ning southerly 127 feet, more or less, to a point on the northern right-of- <br />way line of Szanmit Avenue; thence running easterly along said northern right-of-way <br />line of Suf~mit Avenue 227.53 feet to a point at the northwest intersection of said <br />Summitt Avenue and Chestnut Street; thence running northerly along the western <br />right-of-way line of Chestnut Street 246.10 feet, more or less, to the point of <br />beginning." <br /> <br />Ayes: Johnson, King, Smith(R)~ Turner, Barnes <br />~aining: H'olley <br /> <br />UP70-1S - Application of Mobil Oil.
