<br />At the regular meeting of the City Council, held on July 28, 1970, there were present:

<br />The meeting was opened with prayer by Mr. King.
<br />
<br />The minutes Of the regular meeting held on July 14, 1970 were read and approved.

<br />On motion of Mr. Johnson, the following resolution was adopted, and by the following vote:

<br />"A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PE~4IT FORTHE OPERATION OF A TELEPHONE EX~qBNGE ON
<br />HODGES FERRY RS~D
<br />
<br /> ~EREAS, the Chespeakeeand Potomac Telephone Company of Virginia has made application purmuant to Section
<br /> 4-2 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of a use permit as hereinafter
<br />described; and
<br />
<br /> ~)~EREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director have done all things required to be done in connection
<br />with said application, and the Planning Commission has recommended the granting of said use permit, subject
<br />to the conditions hereinafter stated·
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORe, BE IT RBSOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia:
<br />
<br />That the use for which the use permit hereinafter described is sought (1) will not
<br />adversely affect the, health or safety of persons residing or ~rking in the neighbor-
<br />hood of the prop*ged' use, (2) will not be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious
<br />to property or improwments in the neighborhood, and (S) will be in accord with the pur-
<br />pose of said Zoning Ordinance.
<br />
<br />That the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Virginia is hereby granted a use
<br />permit, subject to site plan restrictions, and persuant to Section 4-2 of the Zoning
<br />Ordinance, for the operation of a telephone exchange located on the property described
<br />as foliows:
<br />
<br />~eginning at a point on the western right-Of-way line of Hodges Ferry RoRd, which
<br />said point is located 720.12 feet in a northwesterly direction from the northwest
<br />corner of the intersaeti~n of Hodges Ferry Road and Logan Drive; thence rur~ing
<br />northwesterly on said western right-of-way line of Hodges Ferry Road along a curare
<br />to the right having a radius of 4,689.06 feet a distance of 150.70 feet to a point;
<br />thence running northwesterly on said western right-of-way line of Hodges Ferry Road
<br />along a curve to the right having a radius of 4,1S8.68 feet a distance of 30.85 feet
<br />to a point; thence runr~ng southwesterly a distance of 285.9 feet to a point; thence
<br />running southeasterly 159.68 feet to a point; thence running northeasterly 274.59
