On motion of Mr. Turner, the following ordinance was approved on first reading and by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPRGPRIATE $3,356.64 FROM THE GENERAL FUND ~S THE CITY'S <br />SHARE OF THE MUNDS FOR THE COST OF THE CHILD-YOUTH SERVICES STUDY." <br /> <br /> Ayes: Holley, Johnson, King, Smith (I), Smith (R), Turner, Barnes <br /> Na~s~ None <br /> <br /> ?0-SS4 "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend it be place8 on first reading. Th~s <br />appropriates SS8,662 for the operation of the Senior Citizens Center. These officers <br />are being sued personally; however, it is my recommendation that the City bear the expense <br />of legal representation for these men. <br /> <br /> They desire to use the Norfolk law firm of Seawell, McCoy, Winston & Dalton due to their ,, <br />experience of practicing law in the federal courts. I recommend that I be authorized to <br />advise this law firm that the City will pay the expense of representation for these officers. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. King to concur in the recommendation of the City Manager, was adopted, with- <br />out dissenting vote: <br /> <br /> 70-558 -"The Tidewater Regional Health Planning Council is preparing <br />tion to the Department of Health, Education and Welfare for a grant for <br />this agency. This will cover S budget years through 1975-76.
