February 9. 1971 <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Turner, the City Council concurred with the recommendation of the <br />City Manager by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, Johnson, King, %mvine Smith, Raymond Smith, Turner, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 71-52 "I submit the attached resolution and recommend its adoption. This <br />designates a portion of the Western Freeway, Route 164, as a limited access facility. <br /> <br /> This establishes the ramps to be constructed at Towne Point Road as limited access, <br />thereby prohibiting any street connections with this interchange, other than Towne Point <br />Road and the Western Freeway. This resolution has been requested by the Highway Department <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. King, the following resolution was adopted, and. by the following vote <br /> <br />as a <br /> <br />"RESOLUTION DESIGNATING A PORTION OF THE WESTERN FREEWAY, ROUTE 164, <br />PROJECT 0164124102, R/W 201, AS A LIMITED ACCESS FACILITY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Western Freeway, Route 164, Project 0164124102, R/W 201, <br />limited access facility, and <br /> <br />has been designed <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary that the boundaries of a portion of the limited access areas <br />be established. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by <br />Freeway, Route 164, Project 0164124102, <br />access facility. <br /> <br /> the Council of the City of Portsmouth, that the Western <br /> R/W 201, be and the same is hereby designated a limiled <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a portion of the limited access coordinates are hereby esta],~ <br />lished as shown on the plans for the said project, copies of which are on file with the <br />Virginia Department of Highways and the City of Portsmouth, as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at a point on the eastern right-of-way line of Towne Point <br />Road (as proposed) 45' right of Station 25+00 (Off. Rev. A) and <br />continuing in a northerly direction to a point 45' right of Station <br />24+30 (Off. Rev. A), then in an easterly direction to a point 65' <br />left of Station 11+00 of Ramp C of Towne Point Road interchange; <br />then continuing eastward along the northern right-of-way of the <br />Western Freeway to a point 110' left of Station 132+88 and from a <br />point 82' right of Station 17+08 on Ramp D [Towne Point Road <br />Interchange) and continuing easterly along the southern right-of- <br />way of the Western Freeway to a point 170' right of Station 126+57 <br />of the Western Freeway mainline." <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, Johnson, King, Irvine Smith, Raymond Smith, Turner, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 71-53 - "I submit the attached deeds and recommend that the proper City officials be <br />authorized to sign.
