Oetnbe~ 12_ 197t <br /> <br /> Mr. Holtey made a motion that was seconded by Mr. Turner, to accept Mrs. Cahoon's re- <br />port as information. <br /> <br /> Mr. Raymcnd Smith made a motion to amend the original motion, receiving a second from <br />Mr. Johnson. <br /> <br /> The amendment stated that the City Manager meet with Mrs. Cahoon to generate facts that <br />would eiSher substantiate or disprove allegations that the troubles occurring in Hedges Manor <br />and Lakeview Elementary Schools have been suppressed. The amendment further stated that a <br />of the petition as presented by Mrs. Cahoon be forwarded to the School Board. <br /> <br />Both the amendment and the original motion were adopted unanimously. <br /> <br /> 71-460 <br />read: <br /> <br />The following letter received from Mr. Beatty Winther, 816 Jewell Avenue, was <br /> <br /> "I am requesting permission to speak at the next City Council meeting. My topic is in <br />reference to the Emergency School Program which was discussed and voted on September 18, 1971. <br /> <br /> I feel, as a citizen, I should express my feelings about this Program, plus the feelings <br />of many others.
