April 11, 1972 <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO A/vlEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />AMENDING SECTIONS 4-64 AND 4-71 THEREOF <br />NON-RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURES." <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, Johnson,~King, <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> VIRGINIA, 1961, BY <br />PERTAINING TO MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR <br /> <br />Irvine Smith, Raymond Smith, Turner, Barnes <br /> <br /> 72-126 "I submit the attached resolution and recommend the adoption. This appoints <br />five viewers for the closing of Race Street between Frederick Boulevard and Fauquier Avenue. <br /> <br /> The closing has been requested by Construction Associates, Inc. and the Planning <br />Commission has recommended the closing." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Johnson, the following resolution was adopted <br />and by the following vote:~ <br /> <br />"RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF RACE STREET BETWEEN <br />FREDERICK BOULEVARD AND FAUQUIBR AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Construction Associates, Inc. has made application to vacate and close the <br />hereinafter described portion of a certain street and it appearing that notice of the <br />application and request for the appointment of viewers was duly posted on March 51, 1972, <br />on the bulletin board of the Court of Hustings for the City of Portsmouth, on the bulletin <br />board of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, and on the bulletin board of the <br />Municipal Court, Civil Division, of the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BB IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />that Frank N. Bilisoly, Louis J. Leitner, L. A. Clark, Zalmon I. Blachman and F. J. Bergeron <br />be appointed viewers to view the hereinafter described portion of such street and report <br />to this Council in writing whether in their opinion, any, and if any, what inconvenience <br />would result from vacating and closing the following: <br /> <br />That portion of Race Street to be closed is more particularly bounded and <br />described as follows, towit: BEGINNING at the point of intersection of <br />the Northern right-of-way line of Race Street with the Western right-of-way <br />line of Frederick Boulevard; thence from said point of beginning running <br />North 86~ 37' 45" West 456.0 feet to a point; thence running Westwardly <br />along the arc of a curve to the kight, said curve having~a radius of 406.65 <br />feet, a distance of 212.92 feet; thence running North 56~ 37' 45" West <br />190.49 feet; thence running in a Southeastwardly direction along the arc <br />of a curve to the right, said curve having a radius of 230.71 feet, an arc <br />RiMSaR~e of 1~.75 feet,tena point in the Southern right-of-way line of <br />Race Street; thence continuing in a Southeastwardly direction along the <br />Southern right-of-way line of Race Street South 56° 57' 45" East a dis- <br />tance of 55.50 feet; thence along a curve to the left, said curve having <br />a radius of 466.65 feet, a distance of 147.90 feet; thence running South <br />86° 37' 45" East 522.64 feet to a point of curve; thence running along <br />the arc of a curve to the left in a Northerly direction, Said curve having <br />a radius of 10 feet, a distance of 15.74 feet to the end of point of curve <br />on the Western right-of-way line of Frederick Boulevard; thence running <br />in a Northerly direction along the arc of a curve to the left, said curve <br />having a radius of 1,O95.92 feet, a distance of 40.05 feet to the said <br />p6iRt of beginning." <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, J~hnson, King, Irvine Smith, Rmymond Smith, Turner, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 72-127 "I submit the attached resolution and recommend its adoption.
