<br />This pertains to working or transacting business on Sunday, and also, to encouraging procuri
<br />of abortion by advertisement. These are changes necessary due to changes made in the State
<br />law at the last session of the General Assembly.
<br />
<br /> This ordinance removes sections from the City Code pertaining to enforcement of the
<br />Sunday Blue Law. The State law now makes violations of the law a civil offense rather
<br />than criminal. It also provides for the Commonwealth's Attorney to obtain an injunction
<br />in case of violations.
<br />
<br /> The section pertaining to abortion prohibits the advertisement by publication, lecture,
<br />sale or circulation of any publication, or through the use of a referral agency for profit,
<br />or in any other manner for encouragement or promotion of the processing of an abortion."

<br />property owner desires to acquire the property. The lot is not large enough for
<br />construction of a house."

<br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS

<br /> WHBRBAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, on January
<br />4, 1972 unanimously resolved to recommend disposal of a parcel of City owned property
<br />located on the north side of Glasgow Street between Potomac and Vermont Avenues, known
<br />as lots 10 and 11 on the plat of the West Port Norfolk Land Company, recorded in Map
<br />Book 6, page 85 in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake,
<br />Virginia; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has no need for the land.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
