.hme ]3. 1972 <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Raymond Smith and seconded by Mr. Johnson, the following ordinance was <br />approved on first reading, and by the following vote: <br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY©OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, <br /> BY REPEALING SECTION 1S-S THEREOF AND BY AMENDING SECTIONS 1S-5 and <br /> THEREOF PERTAINING TO THE PURCHASEgOE SECOND HAND ARTICLES." <br /> <br /> Ayes: Holley, Johnson, King, Irvine Smith, Raymond Smith, Turner, Barnes <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br /> 72-252 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend it be placed on first reading. <br />This repeals Sections ISA-6 and iSA-iS pertaining to the acquisition and transfer of <br />assets of existing libraries. <br /> <br /> These two sections were adopted to allow the City, to accept.the assets of the Public <br />Library and the community library when the facility at Court and King Streets was available. <br />They also allowed the City to accept the assets of the Portsmouth/Norfolk: County Bar <br />Association law library. <br /> <br /> Since the purpose of the ordinance has been accomplished, the proposed ordinance <br />will remove these two sections from the City Code." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Raymond Smith and seconded by Mr.,Turner, the following ordinance was <br /> approved on first reading, and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY, OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, BY <br /> REPEALING SECTIONS 1SA-6 AND ISA-IS THEREOF PERTAINING TO THE ACQUISITION AND <br /> TRANSEER OF ASSETS OF EXISTING LIBRARIES." <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, Johnson, King, Irvine Smith, Raymond Smith, Turner, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 72-233 - "I submit the attached three ordinances and recommend they be~placed on <br />first reading.
